Dodgers recall RHP Cory Wade to replace Belisario
NEW YORK — The Los Angeles Dodgers have recalled right-hander Cory Wade from the minors to replace injured reliever Ronald Belisario.
Belisario was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a strained right elbow. The rookie right-hander went back to Los Angeles for tests, which showed no structural damage. He will rest for a week before being re-evaluated.
Belisario leads the team with 43 appearances. He is 1-3 with a 2.42 ERA in 48 1-3 innings.
Wade was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque, where he pitched in two games after being sent down June 26. He went 2-3 with a 5.88 ERA in 25 games for the Dodgers earlier this season.
