Orioles OF Jones out of lineup with back soreness

MINNEAPOLIS — Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones is out of the lineup because of a sore back.

Orioles manager Dave Trembley said Jones would sit out Monday night’s game at Minnesota.

Jones was Baltimore’s lone representative at the All-Star game. He is hitting .283 this season with 10 home runs and 70 RBIs. With Jones out of the lineup, Felix Pie started in center field for Baltimore.

Jones hit an RBI single in the first inning Sunday against Chicago, but was replaced in the bottom half because his back was bothering him. After Sunday’s game, Jones said that he hoped to be back in the lineup Monday.
