NEW YORK - Tennis star Roger Federer has finally praised World No. 2 and counterpart Andy Murray, and said that Murray is a young player and can win Slams in the years to follow.

“It does not irritate me when experts and former players pick other players. Not everybody can pick me, so it’s fine,” The Sun quoted Federer, as saying.I think Andy deserves a few picks, no doubt, because he’s played so well. The only thing is he hasn’t won a Slam yet, but he’s still quite young,” he added.

The 28-year-old further said that Murray has years to play, and as he gets more experience he will prove his potential of winning Grand Slams.

“It’s not like the guy is 35 years old. So, obviously, he’s still got time. But I think he is in the best shape of his life, right now, definitely,” Federer said.I think this year, with one more year of experience, he’s definitely got a great chance to do well,” he added. (ANI)
