Cyclists join Lance Armstrong for LA bike ride
LOS ANGELES — Lance Armstrong has finished an hour-long bike ride that attracted several hundred cyclists to Griffith Park in Los Angeles.
The seven-time Tour de France winner began his ride early Thursday from the Los Angeles Zoo’s parking lot and led a crowd of cyclists through three loops of the park.
Armstrong posted his riding plans Wednesday on Twitter, asking people to “get out of your cars and get on your bikes.” After the ride he joked that some cyclists had given him a “hurt on the climb” up a hill.
Armstrong has issued Twitter invitations in the past few months for cyclists to join him on rides in Glasgow, Scotland, and Plano, Texas.
