Wozniacki wins to make first Grand Slam final

NEW YORK — Carolina Wozniacki has moved into her first Grand Slam final, with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Yanina Wickmayer at the U.S. Open.

The No. 9 Wozniacki overcame an early break in the second set of the semifinals Saturday night in Armstrong Stadium and won the last four games to close out the win over the 50th-ranked player from Belgium.

Wozniacki, who leads the tour in wins this year, plays Sunday in the final against Kim Clijsters, a 6-4, 7-5 winner over No. 2 Serena Williams in the other semifinal.
