Tracy wins NL manager award, gets 3-year contract
DENVER — The Colorado Rockies have rewarded manager Jim Tracy with a three-year contract.
The Rockies announced the deal Wednesday, less than an hour after he won the NL Manager of the Year award.
Tracy was promoted from bench coach in late May after Clint Hurdle was fired. The Rockies went 74-42 under Tracy and won the NL wild-card spot. Colorado lost to Philadelphia in the playoffs.
The Rockies also say they will bring back their entire coaching staff, which includes pitching coach Bob Apodaca and hitting coach Don Baylor.
