Jones loses to Ennis in 60 hurdles in Glasgow
GLASGOW, Scotland — World champion Lolo Jones lost the 60-meter hurdles to heptathlon specialist Jessica Ennis, who set a British record at the Aviva International.
Ennis finished in 7.95 seconds Saturday at the indoor championships in Glasgow, Scotland, to beat her personal best and edge Jones by two-hundredths of a second.
Jones blamed her second-place finish on jet lag, but Ennis says “to win and to break a British record is really something special.”
David Oliver of the United States won the 60 hurdles in 7.58, ahead of Helge Schwarzer of Germany.
