LONDON - Fast bowler Steve Harmison who was left out of the England squad to South Africa and Bangladesh insists that seeing England’s new batch of bowlers in Bangladesh performing well is lessening his pain.

“I still think I have something to offer but watching guys like Tim Bresnan and Steven Finn coming through is really exciting,” The Sun quoted Harmison, as saying.

“England look like they’re going in a different direction now but all I can do is keep taking wickets for Durham and hope that is enough for me to get another go,” he added.

The 31-year-old player was axed from the team despite helping win The Ashes last August.

On the final day of the 5th Test of Ashes, Harmison claimed the three penultimate wickets, including those of Peter Siddle and Stuart Clark with consecutive deliveries.

England won by 197 runs to take the series 2-1. (ANI)
