Cat or dog? Bryant flap highlights NFL questions

The controversy surrounding Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland asking Oklahoma State receiver Dez Bryant if his mother was a prostitute has drawn new attention to the questions players get asked before the NFL draft.

The process often begins in February at the NFL combine, when players can meet as many as a dozen teams in a day. The questions are designed to test a young player’s demeanor as much as anything else.

Ireland apologized to Bryant for crossing the line. Another player, Geno Atkins, now of Cincinnati, said one team asked him about his sexual orientation. He doesn’t remember which team it was.

Former Mississippi running back Dexter McCluster said another team asked him to sing.
