Lakers Vs Celtics Game 7: Lakers Win NBA Championship

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Kobe Bryant led from the front to give the Los Angeles Lakers their 16th NBA championship victory. On Thursday, the Los Angeles Lakers fans rejoiced their victory over their biggest rivals after losing most of the encounters against the Boston Celtics in the Finals. The most talked about rivalry in NBA came through in Game 7 of the Finals which had both teams locked in a defensive battle. Boston Celtics coach Phil Jackson who said at the end of game 5 that his team was the worst team in holding up the opponents in the 4th quarter, was proved right when the Los Angeles Lakers capitalized maximum in the 4th quarter and ended the game 83-79. They came into game 7 with a winning momentum after Shannon Brown and Kobe Bryant helped them to inflict a crushing victory over the Boston Celtics in game 6.

The Game 7 was determined primarily on the rebounds with Boston Celtics getting 40 against Los Angeles Lakers‘ 58. Kobe Bryant’s stellar performance included 23 points and 15 rebounds. Pau Gasol too showed his class in the pressure situation to finish with 19 points and 18 rebounds. It was however Ron Artest who made the difference in the 4th quarter alongside Kobe Bryant with a 3 pointer that changed the course of the closely fought battle. He finished with 20 points.

For the Boston Celtics there were a couple of great performance that kept the match intense throughout the first three quarters in the Game 7. Paul Pierce was at his best and he finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Kevin Garnett too had a good game and finished with 17 points. Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo contributed with 13 and 14 points. Rajon Rando stood out with 8 rebounds and 10 assists.
