India’s Beijing Olympic stars among six CWG brand ambassadors

NEW DELHI - Olympic gold medallist shooter Abhinav Bindra will be among six sportspersons named as brand ambassadors for the Oct 3-14 Commonwealth Games.

The Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (CGOC) Tuesday announced the names of brand ambassadors.

Apart from Bindra, Olympic bronze medallists Vijender Singh (boxer), and Sushil Kumar (wrestler), star badminton player Saina Nehwal, ace shooter of the 2006 Commonwealth Games fame Samaresh Jung, and four-time world boxing champion M.C Mary Kom are the brand ambassadors for the mega-event.

“These champions have done India proud with their achievements and will serve as remarkable ambassadors for the Commonwealth Games,” said CGOC chairman Suresh Kalmadi.
