LONDON - Manchester United fans are most likely to cheat beyond the field as well, revealed a Premier League study.

As per the study, fans of Man-U have been exposed as real-life Red Devils by topping the league table of cheating football fans followed by supporters of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and Newcastle.

On the contrary, Aston Ville and Everton followers are least likely to stray.

Researchers say fans are simply following the example set by players such as Spurs striker Peter Crouch, 29, who is alleged to have cheated on his model girlfriend Abbey Clancy, 24.

Other famous players include Chelsea ace Ashley Cole, 29, who has split from wife Cheryl, 27, while former England skipper John Terry, 29, is also claimed to have had an affair with then teammate Wayne Bridge’s ex Vanessa Perroncel, 33.

“Fans look up to key players and with so many footballers allegedly cheating on their better halves, what fan wouldn’t feel at least a little urge to emulate their rock star behaviour?” the Daily star quoted Adam Scott of IlicitEncounters.com, a dating website.

While the fans of Old Trafford side claimed the title, venue of the play off was bagged by London.

“London is a social bubble which harbours very modern attitudes. The higher income bracket means many Londoners have enough money to afford an affair,” said Sara Hartley. (ANI)
