DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA (GaeaTimes.com)- The South Australian Redbacks pulled off one of the biggest chases in the Champions League T20 clash against Mumbai Indians. Pushing the Sachin Tendulkar led side almost out of the competition, the Redbacks chased down 180 runs in a relatively comfortable manner. In spite of being one of the most hyped and star studded sides in the competition, the Mumbai Indians have been one of the biggest let downs of the tournament so far.

Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and chose to bat first. Shikhar Dhawan was the first to perish as the gentle outswingers proved to be too tempting for him. Next to go was mainstay Sachin Tendulkar who missed the line of the ball and it crashed into his stumps. Soon the Mumbai Indians were left reeling at 47/3 in the 8th over. The scoring rate was, however, picked up by some good clean hitting by Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo to get the score up to a decent 180. Looking at the start of the innings, the score looked unlikely and almost defendable. The game soon looked out of Mumbai Indians‘ hands as the Redbacks got off to a fantastic start thanks to their openers M Klinger and DJ Harris.

With an opening partnership of 112 runs the Redbacks looked comfortable but only till the loss of the openers. The veteran Mumbai Indians bowling attack soon made inroads into the South Australian middle order and they were left with 41 to get off the last 3 overs. Sachin Tendulkar tossed the ball to Dwayne Bravo who gave away 16 in the over to make things comfortable for the Redbacks who finished the match with 3 balls to spare.
