Rs.21 lakh award for hockey team if it wins final match

NEW DELHI - The commerce ministry Wednesday announced a Rs.21 lakh cash reward for the Indian hockey team if it wins the final match of the Commonwealth Games against Australia Thursday.
The ministry will pay a cash reward of Rs.21 lakh, if the Indian team secures the gold medal at the Games hockey final and Rs.15 lakh for silver medal, Minister Anand Sharma said in a statement.
Earlier, the ministry had announced a cash reward of Rs.7.5 lakh for all the Indian players who won gold medals and Rs.5 lakh for silver and Rs.3.5 lakh for bronze medal winners.
