Williamson strikes ton on debut, New Zealand 417/6 at lunch

AHMEDABAD - Kane Williamson knocked a century on debut as New Zealand reached 417 for six at lunch on the fourth day of the first cricket Test against India here Sunday.

Williamson scored a stupendous 131 off 299 balls with 10 fours. He was dismissed on the last ball of the session by Pragyan Ohja when he edged a catch to V.V.S. Laxman at the first slip.

Skipper Daniel Vettori was batting at 41 at the luncheon break with Black Caps 70 runs behind India’s first innings total.
