HYDERABAD - New Zealand’s batting coach Mark Greatbatch has challenged New Zealand Cricket officials to work for more test matches for the national squad because he firmly believes that arena best serves players wanting to develop their games.

“We don’t play a lot of test cricket, and I think, that is a real work-on for New Zealand Cricket,” stuff.co.nz quoted Greatbatch, as saying ahead of the second Test match against India to be played in Hyderabad from Friday.

“These guys (India) play 12 tests a year and I have always believed it is the best way to get into form whether you are a bowler or a batter,” Greatbatch said, adding that New Zealand has played only four Test matches this year.e said: “It (Test matches) teaches you to learn your game and someone like Kane Williamson will grab a huge amount out of the first game and batting 300 balls in a test match.” (ANI)
