KOLKATA - Indian football’s first theme music video was launched here Thursday and will be used during the charity match between East Bengal All Star and Bayern Munich F.C All Star Nov 17.

The charity match will be for the development of the street children living in the city. The fund raised by selling tickets for the charity match will be used in imparting education, better health and hygiene facilities and economic independence to the children.

“We always tell others to help people who are under privileged than us but as we grow up we tend to forget the saying and instead of helping those people we ignore them,” said East Bengal general secretary Kalyan Mazumdar.

“As we think about this the realisation dawns on us that they are deprived of a better life not because of their fault but for the society who force them to live the way they are instead of helping them, and this is not only a fusion of football and music but it is a fusion of all aspects of life.”

German Vice Consul Andres Fischboeck said the fund-raising game enables his country to be part of the great cause.

“Sports is an excellent way in which different cultures can come together and mingle among themselves. The love for football in West Bengal is extraordinary and being part of the charity match will also provide us a chance to be part of a noble cause,” he said.
