Men’s kabaddi team wins 12th gold for India at Asian Games

GUANGZHOU - The Indian men’s kabaddi team registered a 37-20 victory over Iran in the finals to bag the 12th gold for India at the Guangzhou Asian Games on Friday.

It is the sixth Asiad kabaddi gold for the Indian men’s team.

Earlier in the day, the women’s kabaddi team continued their successful run in the event to beat Thailand 28-14 in their finals.

The Thai team was no match to the Indian women, as they took a 17-7 lead by the half-time.

Women’s kabaddi has made its debut in the 2010 Games.

With the two gold medals, India now has 12 gold medals, 15 silver medals and 32 bronze medals. (ANI)
