LONDON - Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a suspected dislocated left shoulder during his side’s 1-2 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur here Sunday.

Carragher had to leave the field late on after suffering the injury and though it will be assessed by the club Monday, manager Roy Hodgson said he feared the worst.

“We think Jamie has dislocated his shoulder which is a real blow for us and for him,” Hodgson said.

“I don’t know at this stage how long Jamie will be out for but I would think it will be quite long because it’s a serious injury.

“It is a blow for us. (Daniel) Agger is still out injured and we are not really that well blessed for centre-halves.”
