PCB Governing Council to hold ‘crucial meeting’ on Thursday

ISLAMABAD - A crucial meeting of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Governing Council will take place at the board headquarters on Thursday.

According to PCB sources, the governing council would discuss the audit report and accounts of the institution.

“The board members will get a briefing on the recently concluded series against South Africa in the United Arab Emirates, and its financial matters will also come under discussion,” the Daily Times quoted the sources, as saying.

“The PCB cricket committee will brief the members about the ongoing New Zealand tour and other competitions planned for the national players,” the sources added. ccording to them, the council will also discuss Pakistan’s preparations for the World Cup, performances of national players, selection matters, relations with the International Cricket Council (ICC), allegations of match-fixing against some key players, spot-fixing scandal updates and the Zulqranian Haider controversy.

“Newly appointed chief operating officer Subhan Ahmed will also get formal approval of his appointment by the governing council,” said the sources.

However, the PCB spokesman said that the agenda for the meeting was yet to be finalised.

“As far as I know, the agenda is not finalised yet, it may have a final shape on Tuesday,” PCB spokesman Nadeem Sarwar said. (ANI)
