IPL-4 will have 70 league matches

BANGALORE - The fourth season of the Indian Premier League will have 70 matches in the league stage, beginning April 8.

“The 10 teams will play seven matches at home, and seven away. Each side will play five opponents at home and away, will take on two sides at home only, and the remaining two teams away,” The Indian cricket board said in a statement.

“There will be one league table, as in previous years, and the top four teams at the end of the league stage will qualify for the play-off matches.”

There will be four play-off matches and the tournament will end May 28.

A randon draw will be held before the start of day two of IPL auction Sunday to determine the fixture, according to the statement.
