Batra elected Asian Hockey Federation vice president

NEW DELHI - Hockey India (HI) secretary general Narinder Batra has been elected vice president of the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF).

At the AHF congress held at Kuala Lumpur Sunday, Batra got the second highest number of votes among the 11 candidates in fray for the job. He will hold office till 2014.

“The incumbent AHF president Sultan Azlan Shah, secretary general P.Alagendra and treasurer Fumio Ogura were re-elected unopposed,” HI said in a statement Tuesday.

The other vice presidents elected are — Muneyoshi Ueda (Japan), Chaiyapak Siriwat (Thailand), Qasim Zia (Pakistan), Hong Moon Pyo (Korea), and women representative Shin Jung Hee (Korea).
