NAIROBI - Former South African batsman Jonty Rhodes has accepted to continue his coaching role with Kenya until the start of the Cricket World Cup.

Rhodes, who first worked with the team during a three-week training camp in Pretoria last November, is expected to arrive in Nairobi this week to join the team, which is currently on a tour of India for a series of build-up matches, Sport24 reports..

Cricket Kenya (CK) Chief Executive Tom Sears said the former Proteas star fielder will be with the squad during their final preparations for the World Cup, when they travel to an ICC High Performance Camp in Dubai on January 30, and in Sri Lanka, where Kenya will play a series of warm-up matches.

“Jonty will be a tremendous asset to the squad during the final phase of our preparation,” he said.

“We are doing everything we can to ensure our squad arrive at the World Cup in a position to fulfil their undoubted potential and Jonty’s involvement will be a key part of that,” Sears added. (ANI)
