MELBOURNE - World No.9 Li Na has shocked World No.1 Caroline Wozniacki in the Australian Open semi-finals to become the first Asian woman to reach a Grand Slam final.

After an error-strewn opening set, Li fought back to win 3-6, 7-5, 6-3, in a match lasting two hours and 35 minutes at Melbourne Park.

Wozniacki, playing her first Grand Slam as the World No.1, had a match point at 5-4 and 40-30 in the second set before Li rallied to break serve and eventually take the set, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

Li, who lost to Serena Williams in the semifinals here last year, will meet the winner of the second semifinal between World No.2 Vera Zvonareva and World No.3 Kim Clijsters in the final. (ANI)
