MELBOURNE - Michael Clarke’s childhood mentor and India-based coach, Neil D’Costa, has said that Australian teenager Daniel Brew’s advice to the stand-in skipper was ’slightly embarrassing’.

Brew became an overnight celebrity after gatecrashing Clarke’s pre-game press conference to give the struggling batsman batting tips.

He told Clarke that he should stop playing away from his body, and needed to spend extra time practising if he wanted to run himself back into form.

“Getting some guy who plays fourth grade in Melbourne to show him technique, that’s slightly embarrassing,” the Age quoted D’Costa, as saying.

“The basics of the game won’t ever change. We’re talking about the fastest bowlers in the world in front of 40,000 people. We’re not talking about playing in your backyard with your sister,” he added. (ANI)
