Pro Football Hall Of Fame 2011 Names Revealed

DALLAS (GaeaTimes.com)- One of the most prestigious recognition of the football world was recently awarded to the seven players whose names feature in the Pro Football Hall Of Fame 2011 list. Yes, the much awaited names of the Hall of Famers have been announced after an unanimous decision taken by the Selection Committee. The honor has been given to some of the most talented football figures of this decade which includes top shot names like Deion Sanders and Marshall Faulk. Along with them five others including Richard Dent, Shannon Sharpe, Ed Sabol, Chris Hanburger and Les Richter have also been selected for the honor.

The announcement has received an amiable response. In fact not many would tend to disagree that the jury panel comprising of 44 experts of the football world have made the right decision by naming these top seven. Among them, Deion Sanders’ name was one which inevitably came out of everyone’s mouth for the former player certainly is one of the most deserving candidates of the Football Hall of Fame 2011. According to sources, the final decision was taken after a long discussion which, reportedly, took for more than seven hours. Both Deion Sanders and Marshall Faulk have been bestowed with the honor of the Pro Football Hall of Fame at the very first time of their eligibility.

Marshall Faulk had earned the NFL’s 2000 most valuable player while Deion Sanders is a nine-time Pro Bowler. The names of the Pro Football Hall of Fame 2011 were declared on Saturday at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Dallas. Dermontti Dawson, Willie Roaf, Tim Brown, Cris Carter, Andre Reed, Jerome Bettis, Curtis Martin, Chris Doleman and Charles Haley were the other finalists who failed to make it till the end.
