What Did Serena Williams Say: Speculations Galore

serena williamsThe US Open has many a times seen top notch players losing there self control in a tough match. This year was no different. Serena Williams was disqualified from the semi final match on grounds of violation of codes. But the question that has risen now is what did she actually say to the lineswoman to deserve to be disqualified?
One set of reports have it that Serena said, “I swear to God [bleep], I’m taking this ball and shoving it your [bleep].” The other set reports that she said, “If I could, I would take…this ball and … shove it down your throat.” Some reports even have it that Serena said to the lineswoman, “I would kill you!” The truth has not yet been revealed by anyone of the USGA authorities. It is reported that some people have apparently heard Serena saying in her defence, “I didn’t say I am going to kill you. Are you serious?”
Serena had already earned a warning earlier in the game when she threw her racket and broke it, after losing the opening set. But when the lineswoman called for a foot fault in the second set, a frustrated Williams lost her self control and charged with her racket towards the lineswoman and allegedly abused her. The lineswoman, whose identity has not yet been revealed, complained to the chair umpire Lousie Engzell. The chair umpire consulted Brian Earley, the referee of the tournament, and a prompt decision on their part resulted in an astonishing 6-4, 7-5 victory to Kim Clistjers while Williams was thrown out of the tournament.
After all this, Williams, who had temporarily acted unsatisfactorily in her anger showed true sportsman spirit by walking up to Clistjers and shaking hands with her, before leaving the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
