NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. - Four-year-old Aiden Patrick was playing on the beach just yards away from his father when he yelled "Daddy" and ran toward him, into the path of an oncoming truck driving legally on the sand.

INDIANAPOLIS - With Jamie McMurray's victory in the Brickyard 400 on Sunday, owner Chip Ganassi claimed the first team triple crown in American auto racing: winning the Daytona 500, Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400 in the same year.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s charge to second place in the last two laps of the Daytona 500 was so frantic that even he couldn't quite remember how he pulled it off.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Anyone who managed to stick with the Daytona 500 through more than two hours of delays because of a pesky pothole were rewarded with a fantastic finish: Jamie McMurray held off hard-charging Dale Earnhardt Jr., then broke down in tears in Victory Lane.
