World Games: Indian challenge ends in squash

KAOHSIUNG - The Indian challenge in the World Games squash competition ended when eighth seed Saurav Ghosal went down in four games to top seed Nick Matthew of England in the quarter-finals.

Ghosal Wednesday night put up a spirited fight but Matthew proved a difficult opponent and the Indian lost 4-11, 13-11, 9-11, 6-11.

Earlier, two other Indians Ritwik Bhattacharya and Joshna Chinnappa lost in the men’s and women’s singles, respectively.

Bhattacharya crashed in the first round against Julien Balbo of France while Joshna went down to World No.1 Nicole David of Malaysia in the quarter-finals.
