Vinod Kumar’s team tops Indian Oil Xtra Premium Masters golf

DIGBOI - PGTI member Vinod Kumar’s team comprising Mridul Shyam, D.P. Prasad and P. Sharma, with a total of 106 points won the pro-am title in the Indian Oil Xtra Premium Masters golf tournament here Wednesday on the basis of a countback against PGTI member Feroz Ali Mollah’s team that had an identical score.

Feroz Ali Mollah’s team comprised of amateurs G.K. Goyari, B.M. Bansal and Deepak Kumar while PGTI member Gurki Shergill’s team of D. Roy, A. Pandian and Mukul Dutta finished second runners-up with a score of 100 points.

The tournament was inaugurated this morning at the picturesque Digboi Golf Links with a ceremonial tee-off by B.M. Bansal, Director, Planning & Business Development, Indian Oil.

In all, 26 teams took part in the pro-am competition that provides amateur golfers from Digboi an opportunity to play alongside some of the top professional golfers in the country.

The Pro-Am was played on a Stableford format wherein the professional score was compulsory along with two best amateur scores out of three amateurs on a hole-by-hole basis.
