German goalkeeper Robert Enke left suicide note

HANNOVER, Germany — Police say Germany goalkeeper Robert Enke left behind a suicide note.

Authorities would not say Wednesday where the note was found, but say all the evidence points to suicide.

The 32-year-old Enke died Tuesday when he was hit by a train outside Hannover, where he played his club soccer. His agent has said it was a suicide.

Hundreds of Hannover fans have descended upon the club’s stadium to pay tribute to Enke.
