West’s 2 TDs lift Morgan State over Hampton 16-13

HAMPTON, Va. — Domanick West ran for two touchdowns as Morgan State defeated Hampton 16-13 on Saturday in the season finale for both teams.

West’s second score, from 1 yard out with 5:16 remaining, enabled the Bears (6-5, 4-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) to erase a 13-10 Hampton lead.

The Pirates (5-6, 3-5) had come back from a 10-0 halftime deficit on touchdown passes by David Legree of 90 yards to Isiah Thomas and 15 yards to Darius Mullen.

Hampton outgained Morgan State 484 yards to 281, with the aid of 363 passing yards, but was hurt by 16 penalties for 153 yards.

West gained 40 yards on 10 carries and Devan James had 53 on 17 carries for the Bears.
