LONDON - Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has defended skipper John Terry after allegations that he helped a ticket tout earn cash for unofficial tours of their training ground.

Earlier, a media report had claimed that Terry took a 10,000 pound payment from a tout, 8,000 pounds of which he wanted to go to the ‘Make A Wish’ charity for children with the other 2,000 pound going to a middleman.

“It is not correct. This is not true. I think the club, me, the players, have a lot of confidence in John Terry. John Terry did nothing wrong,” The Sun quoted Ancelotti, as saying.I am not upset and neither is JT. He was very calm before the game. No problem. He told me he has done nothing wrong and I accept that,” he added.

Ancelotti further said that he was satisfied with Chelsea’s 1-1 draw at Upton Park, which extended their Premier League lead to four points.

“Today is not a big problem to know if it’s one point gained or two lost. What happened in the first half was not good. The second half was better but we met a tough team who played with strong pressure on midfield,” Terry said.

“It’s not so bad. We have one point more at the top and we can have a good Christmas,” he added. (ANI)
