MELBOURNE - Pakistan opening batsman Salman Butt has said that his team has an advantage over the Aussies, as the hosts lacks quality spinners in their attack.

Butt said Australia would badly miss fast bowler Glenn McGrath and master leg spinner Shane Warne during the series, and underlined that South Africa’s series win in Australia last summer has proved that the once ‘invincible’ Australians can be beaten at home.

“That was a very competitive series and South Africa are a very good side as well. Because Australia don’t have McGrath and Warnie any more there’s more chances of sides coming and playing well over here,” he said.

It was McGrath and Warne who had made life hell for Pakistani batsmen during the 2004-05 series.

Butt also rated off spinner Saeed Ajmal as far superior than Australian Nathan Hauritz.

He said Ajmal along with leg-spinner Danish Kaneria would form a formidable spin attack, which would be hard for the Aussie batsmen to tackle.

“We have the two best spinners in the world who are available. He’s (Hauritz) a good offspinner, he’s conventional. But the advantage that Saeed has is he can spin the ball both ways and a bit faster than Hauritz. That makes him the best spinner,” Butt said.

“Hauritz is also good but I think Saeed Ajmal is much better,” he added. (ANI)
