No. 25 TCU turns away Utah 62-41

FORT WORTH, Texas — Starr Crawford scored 15 points and No. 25 TCU defeated Utah 62-41 Saturday for its seventh straight win.

TCU (12-3, 2-0 Mountain West) has won 15 in a row at home, the second-longest run in school history. Emily Carter scored 14 points for the Lady Frogs, who led by 16 at halftime.

Utah (9-5, 0-1) had its five-game winning streak snapped. The Utes came within 38-28 early in the second half before TCU put the game away with 22-6 run.

Taryn Wicijowski had 16 points and Janita Badon added 11 for the Utes. Kalee Whipple, who led the conference in scoring, was held to two points on 1 of 12 shooting.

The Lady Frogs took a 20-6 lead in the first seven minutes. Crawford’s putback before the halftime buzzer put TCU ahead 36-20.
