VANCOUVER (GaeaTimes.com)- The opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics 2010 will be torched today at BC Place in downtown Vancouver, at 6 PM PST. The whole world is looking forward to this ceremony as this celebration is the second costliest one in the history of Olympics games. Also this will be the grandest winter Olympics celebration as it has cost $40 million dollars in total. The Canadian government will pay part of the game celebration.

The authority has put “With Glowing hearts” as the slogan for this years’ game,which has been taken from the Canadian National Anthem. The celebration and the sports this year, for the first time will be held indoor under the fabric roof of the stadium. This is going to be really helpful given the kind of weather that is expected of North America at this time of the year. The authorities have remained sceptically silent about the kind of performance that will be part of theWinter Olympics 2010 opening ceremony.

However, according to some sources, audience might get to see some really wonderful light works atWinter Olympics 2010 ceremony. There would be dancers and skaters too according to sources. As for the prestigious flag bearing ceremony, Shelley Rudman will carry the British flag, while Mark Grimmette will bear the US flag. The flag of New Zealand will be carried forward by snow boarder Juliane Bray and that of Russia by Alexei Morozov who is a hockey player along with many other flag bearers of different nations. The stadium has a capacity of 55,000 people. At the same time NBC will have a live telecast of the opening ceremony which will be shown on Universal Sports.
