BRISBANE - Australian middle-order batsman Mike Hussey has described New South Wales fast bowling all-rounder Ryan Harris as a real winner and a great guy to have around the group.

“He just gives his all for every single contest, whether it be with the bat, the ball - and he’s got the ability to turn the game in the field as well. He’s a got a real winning attitude,” ABC Sport quoted Hussey, as saying.

“His results have been astounding really. I think he has a lot of international cricket ahead of him,” he added.

Such has been Harris’ stunning form, that he is being considered for a Test debut for Australia’s upcoming tour of New Zealand.

With Brett Lee, Peter Siddle and Ben Hilfenhaus not expected back from injury any time soon, Harris has ensured plenty of headaches for national selectors.

But that can only be a good thing, according to Hussey.

“There are huge headaches for the selectors, but they are probably good headaches,” he said.

“We want as much depth as we can ahead of the World Cup. It’s going to be very tough for them, but I think that is what they want,” Hussey said.

His one-day form with the ball this summer has been impressive enough, claiming 17 wickets in five games at 10.82. He has shown that he can bat as well. (ANI)
