Maryland beats NC State 67-58

RALEIGH, N.C. — Greivis Vasquez scored 17 of his 26 points in the second half to help Maryland rally from a 10-point halftime deficit to beat North Carolina State 67-58 on Wednesday night.

Freshman Jordan Williams matched his season-high of 19 points to go with 11 rebounds for the Terrapins (18-7, 8-3 Atlantic Coast Conference), who pushed ahead for good midway through the second half for their seventh straight win in the series. Maryland shot 56 percent after halftime to move into a second-place tie with Virginia Tech in the ACC standings, just behind league-leading Duke.

Dennis Horner had 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Wolfpack (14-13, 2-10), who have lost five straight games to fall into the ACC basement. N.C. State led 37-27 at halftime, but went nearly 9 minutes without a field goal after the break as Maryland made its push to the lead.
