Texans CB Dunta Robinson to explore free agency

You can strive to be like Dave. I’ll pass.

Watch out, though … you’re not half-bad at it.

Not Goldbergian yet, of course, but there’s something for us all to strive for.

I tweet because I am ordered to tweet.

Definitely … but not sure who they’d lose to be able to pay what this guy’s going to want.

By the way, I never realized you were such a tweeting machine … been following your skating updates on there. Good stuff.

FYI … I’m working on something to run probably early next week on a bunch of players going to Harvard and Wharton for business workshops. I got some good stuff from guys feeling the need to know what to do with their money in case there’s a work stoppage, etc. Affleck signed off on it.

Might be a fit for your team if it loses an FA.

HOUSTON (AP) — Cornerback Dunta Robinson is bidding the Houston Texans farewell, declaring himself a free agent.

Robinson disclosed his plans Wednesday in e-mail to KRIV-TV of Houston and the Houston Chronicle. The Texans’ first-round draft pick in 2004 out of South Carolina (10th overall) is the team’s career leader in interceptions with 13.

In his e-mail, he wrote that his departure is unsurprising “when you are dealing with a tough business like the NFL.” He thanked Texans management and the city of Houston for their support. In return, general manager Rick Smith expressed appreciation his contributions.

Robinson had played under a “franchise player” contract last season that paid him almost $10 million. Smith said the decision not to do so again for 2010 was a tough one.
