Russia take 2-0 lead against India in Davis Cup

MOSCOW - Russia took a 2-0 lead over India after Somdev Devvarman and Rohan Bopanna lost their singles matches to Igor Kunitsyn and Mikhail Youzhny in the Davis Cup World Group first round here Friday.

While Somdev went down fighting 7-6(6) 6-7(4) 3-6, 4-6 in the opening singles, Bopanna was handed a 4-6, 2-6, 3-6 mauling at the hands of World No. 13 Youzhny in the second match.

It now all depends on the famed pair of Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi to keep India afloat in the tie, when they play the doubles Saturday.
