JAIPUR - Kings XI Punjab’s medium pacer Sreesanth, it seems, has failed to learn from his past mistakes and was again staring at a penalty in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match after his sarcastic clappping at the umpires and Rajasthan Royals batsman Michael Lumb here Wednesday at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium.

The incident took place in the third over when an erratic Sreesanth, who conceeded 40 runs from three overs, was called for two no balls and was hit by Lumb for a four in the free-hit. This infuriated the bowler who first clapped at Lumb and then at the umpires.

Sreesanth’s teammate Yuvraj Singh was not pleased with his antics and immediately walked up to him and asked the bowler from Kerala to mend his ways.

Last October, Sreesanth was given a “final warning” by the Indian cricket board to mend his on-field behaviour, failing which he would be suspended from domestic matches.

For record, in the first edition at home Sreesanth was slapped by Harbhajan Singh and that left the medium pacer crying on the field. Sreesanth was left with a warning while Harbhajan was suspended from rest of the tournament.

Sreesanth returned to the national team last year after a long injury lay-off and had vowed to control his emotions on the field.
