Detroit Pistons, dead last in NBA Central Division, cut prices 10-50% for next season

Amid losing season, Pistons cut prices for 2010-11

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — The Detroit Pistons say they’re cutting ticket prices for next season by 10 percent to 50 percent.

The Pistons on Monday cited the difficult economic conditions in Michigan and say it’s the biggest across-the-board price cut in team history.

Through Sunday, Detroit was 26-54 on the season, 34½ games behind the Central-leading Cleveland Cavaliers. The Pistons will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2001 and finish with fewer than 30 wins in a season for just the fourth time since 1980-81.
