SPARTA (GaeaTimes.com)- The Kentucky Speedway on June 12 was again dominated by the two time champion Joey Logano. With a 3 in 3 record in the races, Joey Logano becomes a young force to reckon with. The ecstatic 20 year old revealed after the race that he didn’t expect a win after winning the last two titles. He overtook some big names in NASCAR to win the race. Carl Edwards came close to Joey Logano a couple of times but ended up coming second in his Number 60 Ford.

The crew chief of Joey Logano also appreciated the youngsters racing skills. He called it a tough race and he was happy that his team dominated for most of the laps. Joey Logano led in 106 of the 200 laps. He overtook Brendon Gaughan in the 176th lap in front of the 61000 strong crowd. He repeated his feat in the 2008 and 2009 of the Kentucky Speedway races by posting the fastest lap in qualifying. He was a healthy 2mph faster than 2nd place qualifier Brad Coleman.

Brad Keselowski who led the points table, came third in the race that was slowed by rain warnings. There were a number of warnings of heavy rains from the west that made the race even more difficult. Though slowed down, the racers became more neck and neck. There was also a caution for debris on the track that almost took out two very important racers. Carl Edwards called Joey Logano’s performance in the Kentucky Speedway great. He said that he drove well and also had a fast car. Joey Logano complained of a bad car on Friday but after Saturday’s win he said that the modifications were made to perfection.
