PEBBLE BEACH, CALIFORNIA (GaeaTimes.com)- American Professional golfer Dustin Johnson maintained his control over the game and cruised ahead to take a three-shot lead on Saturday at the U.S. Open tournament. The 25 year old golfer went a step forward to clinch his very first major title as he shot a five-under 66 to leave behind Graeme McDowell of Northern Ireland to take the lead in the third round.

For much of the third round, Dustin Johnson went head-to-head with Graeme McDowell before he ensured the lead with two birdies which enabled him to keep his winning hopes high for the final day of the tournament. Graeme McDowell was behind the American golfer in the second position while world number one golfer Tiger Woods followed the two in the third slot with a stunning three-round 66. However, it was surely the 25 year old American golfer who completely ruled the roost during Saturday’s game with the scintillating prowess that he showcased over the game. Later, Dustin Johnson revealed to news sources that he loved playing at the Pebble Beach while noting that he had managed to hit the ball well and also delivered few putts down the stretch.

At the same time, Dustin Johnson also seemed quite clear about the game plan that he would be undertaking in order to give his best shot during Sunday’s game. The ace golfer pointed out that in the next rounds he is going to take it really slow while being ready for whatever the course has to offer. Meanwhile, victory at the Monterey Peninsula is not something completely new to the golfer as two out of his three PGA wins came at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
