JOHANNESBURG - The 2010 World Cup trophy was handed over to Spain captain Iker Casillas by FIFA head Joseph Blatter and South Africa President Jacob Zuma at Soccer City following his side’s 1-0 victory over the Netherlands Sunday.

Andres Iniesta netted the only goal of the game in the second period of extra-time in a bad-tempered match that saw 14 yellow cards and Dutch defender John Heitinga sent off for a second bookable offence.

It was Spain’s first world title in their first final while the Netherlands have now lost all three finals they have participated in.
