With the death of the iconic public address announcer, an important segment of the history of the New York Yankees comes to an end as Bob Sheppard has worked with the team for about five decades. He is known to have earned that title of “voice of God’ with his meticulous and impeccable pronunciations as well as his very own unique style while introducing the players of the team.
