NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com) — It took only 1 minute and 52 seconds for Jon Jones to slam Vladimir “The Janitor” Matyushenko. Yesterday in the UFC, Jon took a clear lead against Vladimir and defeated him with ease and comfort.

Jones hit a takedown on his advancing opponent after landing a spinning back kick. He quickly moved into dominant position — a mounted crucifix that tied up both of Matyushenko’s arms. Once set up on top, Jones hammered the defenseless Matyushenko with no less than 10 elbows before referee Herb Dean felt it was time to end the barrage.

Jon “Bones” Jones is one of the brightest young stars in the UFC. He should be considered undefeated as the only loss on his record came by way of confusing disqualification for battering Matt Hamill with supposedly illegal 12-6 elbow.

Vladimir Matyushenko is a throwback fighter who competed in the UFC in the earlier days of Mixed martial Arts. The 39 year old Belarusian wrestler would compete in the UFC quite a few times leaving the organization after a KO loss to Andrei Arlovski at UFC 44 before moving on to promotions like the IFL and Affliction. His return yesterday did not prove worthwhile as Jon stole the show.
