Worthing Birdman Event 2010: Ready to Fly High

WORTHING, LONDON (GaeaTimes.com) — The main event of Worthing Birdman 2010 was full of excitement yesterday. Thousands of crowds gathered at Worthing to cheer for the winner of the event, Toby Quantrill.

For those who are wondering what is Worthing Birdman? Let me share something with you. The Worthing International Birdman event is a competition for human powered flying machines that take off from a special ramp constructed on Worthing Pier. There are 3 flying classes so prospective participants can decide if they wish to be a serious aviator or want to take part for fun and raise money for charity.

This event brings thousands of visitors to Worthing over the weekend. Over the years this event is getting both national and international publicity. The Birdman competition was a popular show this year as Tony Quantrill thrilled the onlookers with his final fight of 81 meters. He was the proud winner of the Condor Class.

Birdman competition 2010 announced winners of the other two classes which includes:
Leonardo Class- Dr Bill Brooks
Kingfisher Class- Paul Kearney.
