DAMBULLA - The New Zealand-Sri Lanka match of the tri-nation One-Day International (ODI) series was abandoned because of heavy rain Thursday.

The match will now be played on the reserve day, Friday.

Ajantha Mendis was picked in place of Dilhara Fernando while Chamara Silva replaced Thilan Samaraweera.

New Zealand also made three changes to their playing XI. Injured Martin Guptill made way for Peter Ingram while Jacob Oram replaced Tim Southee. Grant Elliott came in place of Andy McKay.
