DEL MAR, Calif. — Liberian Freighter defeated Hey Elvis by a nose to win the $93,650 Harry F. Brubaker Stakes on Wednesday at Del Mar.

Ridden by Martin Garcia, Liberian Freighter covered 1 1-16 miles over the infield grass course in 1:41.03 and paid $11.40, $4.80 and $3.80.

Hey Elvis returned $3.20 and $2.60, while Quindici Man paid $3.80 to show.

The victory, worth $61,320, increased Liberian Freighter’s career earnings to $481,740.

Massone came in fourth in the field of six runners. Sky Cape and One Track Mind were scratched.
